Meet The Team
Melissa Ramirez
I’m the founder of Helping Hands International. This foundation is based on my journey.
As a child we had very little, surviving for another day. Going through rough times take a toll on a child. Now, as an adult I want to be a source of provisions to underprivileged families.
I want to provide sources for children who needs a distraction from the rough days. A hand to the community to make the livelihood easier. We were created to live in union, as one under God. We hope to have you in our outreach programs. Every hope, faith, love makes a difference in someone’s life.
“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity".
Colossians 3:14

I am one of the directors at Helping Hands International. It is an honor to be part of this extraordinary foundation that is deeply meaningful to me. As a child, I experienced familiar struggles growing up in a single-parent household where making ends meet was a constant challenge. This upbringing instilled a strong sense of determination in my sister and me, and our dreams remained unwavering despite the hardships. That seed of hope has now blossomed into a reality.
Our mission is to support disadvantaged families by providing essential resources and necessities they have been lacking, offering them hope and peace for their future endeavors. I am excited about the transformation of lives that will take place through our work at Helping Hands International!
We invite you to embark on this journey with us, empowering and brightening the lives of these children and their families.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve our communities as a representative of HHI. Growing up as an inner-city youth in a single parent home, I have grown to value the importance of family and education. As the Director of Operations, my number one priority is to provide opportunities and resources to uplift families and improve life skills. Education, training, and mentorship are some of the foundational principles of HHI.

I am one of the directors for Helping Hands International.
I have lived in poverty both as a child and as an adult, and I can say with full confidence that it is a life-crushing force.
I never stopped believing that there must be a way out. I lived in a studio apartment with my 4 children. As a single mother I was unable to find any lasting jobs, barely making enough to cover the bills and finishing school. We relied on government assistance for food.
Throughout our years of hardship, we demonstrated commitment to giving. I believe that our life is about service. It’s about our purpose in this world, to our children, to our family and to others. I developed a strong sense of devotion to the non-profit sector as a member in the church realm. My experience gave me a deep appreciation for helping the community. To help the most needed and seek to improve the quality of life for our region and to express my gratitude to God for placing this love for others in me.
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35
